Consultation Fees

What are the fees?

The standard fee is $250 for a 50-minute consultation.

With a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) in place, you will receive a rebate of $96.65 into your nominated account from Medicare (the out-of-pocket cost is $153.35).

Please note we do not offer bulk billing.

What is a Mental Health Care Plan?

A Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) is a plan for people needing support with their mental health. To obtain a MHCP, make an appointment with your GP to discuss your mental health concerns.

With a current referral and a MHCP in place, you may be eligible for up to ten Medicare rebated consultations per calendar year.

Do you accept NDIS Referrals?

Yes, we work with self-managed NDIS Plans.

Our fees for psychological reports vary depending on what is required.

What is your cancellation policy?

Parker Psychology has a limited number of appointment times available each week. When an appointment is made you are liable for the full cost of that appointment. In the event that you need to cancel an appointment, Parker Psychology will do their best to fill the spot or reschedule the appointment within the same week so that you are not charged.

However, the limited number of appointment times each week means that the cancelled appointment cannot always be filled or rescheduled within the same week. In this case you will be charged for the full cost of the appointment.

The reason for this policy is that there is a fixed number of available appointment times in a week and they are all committed to particular people. A new referral cannot be accepted unless there is an ongoing regular (e.g. weekly) space available for them. If one appointment becomes available in a given week due to a cancellation it cannot be filled with a new referral as there is no ongoing space for this person. New referrals are not accepted unless an ongoing appointment time is available.

If you become unwell, we can accommodate these circumstances with a phone or zoom appointment where appropriate.

Please note that in the event that a scheduled cognitive and/or academic assessment appointment is cancelled and the associated appointments cannot be filled, you will be charged at the rate of $250 per hour for your cancelled appointment(s).

Do I need a referral from my GP to see a Psychologist?

No, you do not need a referral or MHCP to make an appointment. The standard fee is the same and no rebate will apply. If you have private health insurance that covers Psychology, you may be able to claim through your insurance.
