Psychological Assessments for Children and Teens
Cognitive, Academic & Learning Assessments
Cognitive and academic assessments offer an opportunity for parents and teachers to further understand the young person’s unique learning profile and how to improve learning effectiveness both at school and at home. Where there may be concerns for any learning difficulties , it is the combined results from both cognitive and academic testing that provide insight into possible learning difficulties. There are a range of factors that can influence the experience of learning difficulties, even stress and anxiety can be in the mix of causal factors, and we will work together to understand how best to help your child or teen with any learning difficulties

FAQs

Upon completion of the initial parent only consultation you may then decide whether to proceed.
Do I need to pay for the assessment upfront?
Psychological assessments can be billed in instalments or you may choose to pay upfront.
Do I need a referral?
No, you do not need a doctors referral.
Are there any Medicare rebates for Assessments?
Assessment are not currently offered under Medicare.
What if my child has already had a Cognitive (IQ) assessment?
Full or partial academic assessments can occur when your child has already had a cognitive (IQ) assessment within the last 2 years.
Where a recent IQ test result is available, it is necessary for this to be sent to us prior to the assessment date for the psychologist to review.
The psychologist can integrate the previous assessment results with the new academic test results to identify any learning difficulties or disorders.
